We don't call our Sterling Silver "Fine" just for the sake of it. While Fine Sterling Silver is .999 pure silver, that's too soft for jewelry. The industry standard for Sterling Silver jewelry is .925, but Charles Albert goes the extra mile. We use .950 silver, which contains 95% pure silver and 5% copper for added strength. We don't settle for anything less than exceptional quality, and our silver exemplifies this commitment.
The meticulous process of handcrafting jewelry starts with small, premium silver pellets. These high-quality pellets are melted down into silver bars, which are then pressed into long, flat sheets using a rolling machine. Each pass through the machine reduces the metal's thickness, with different thicknesses utilized for various components throughout the crafting process.
When heated, the silver becomes malleable enough for our skilled artisans to shape according to Charles Albert's design for each individual stone. If needed, a silver counter bezel is placed inside the casing to securely hold the stones. You can be assured that each piece is set firmly in place by the most experienced hands.
In the final stage, once the stone is securely set within the silver bezel, the piece is polished, cleaned, and prepared for sale. Our entire jewelry-making process is done completely by hand, by expert artisans dedicated to their craft. For instance, a single finished necklace can take up to a month to create, while on average, our pieces take between 8 to 12 weeks to produce.
