And the results are in! Kylie Jenner has officially been named the youngest self-made billionaire, beating Mark Zuckerberg by about two years. If you do not know who Kylie Jenner is and how she has forged a name in the beauty industry, let’s recap. Kylie is the daughter of Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner, who now identifies as Caitlyn Jenner. She is also the girlfriend of rap sensation Travis Scott, and the mother of his daughter, Stormi Webster.
Kylie Jenner has also recently been attached to the latest pop culture scandal, including her sister Khloe Kardashian and Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods. Jenner has also built a multi-million dollar cosmetic company called Kylie Cosmetics, where she owes the majority of its fame to her oh-so-popular Lip Kit.
Earlier in 2018, Jenner interviewed with Forbes, where they named her the youngest entrepreneur on track to become a self-made billionaire. This article attracted major controversy on Twitter and Instagram, where many attacked Forbes for labeling Jenner as “self-made,” when she has obviously had the backing of her family’s initial fame and wealth.
Fast Forward to today, Forbes has released another article crowning Kylie Jenner, not just a billionaire on the rise, but as the actual youngest self-made billionaire ever. This article is driving even more controversy, not only because Forbes ignored the concerns of their readers the first time, but because they are still referencing Jenner as something they feel is inaccurate.
So we’re leaving it up to you guys. Seeing as the dictionary defines the word self-made as “made by one oneself,” do you consider Kylie Jenner self-made or family-made? Let us know in the comments.
