One of the keys to keeping the spark and flame alive in a relationship is continuing to court your significant others, even after he/she did those things that you “hate” the most. We are living in a time in which indoor date nights can be one of our few options to keep things entertaining and exciting! Is a great way to reconnect and revive your feelings of romance and love.

Maybe the things are crazy busy for you right now, and to fit a full night in your schedule can be hard, especially when kids come into the picture. Or you’re on a tight budget and a babysitter just isn't feasible, or you just don't like to leave your kids with no one just to go out! Rather than feeling like your hands are tied by all these “obstacles” and you can't make date night happen at all, consider an alternative: “AT HOME DATE NIGHT”.

The concept of the at-home date night is simple: if you can't go out of town, get creative and adaptable, and come with a fun activity that you can do with your significant other without having to leave the house. If you have kids, your date starts once they go to bed.

Sing Your Hearts Out

Karaoke is one of the most fun at-home dates! Sing your hearts out together to all your favorite songs. Find videos with song lyrics on YouTube or turn on the subtitles to create your own karaoke night right in your living room. Find the cheesiest ballads you can think of, or belt out your favorite jams from high school and college. If you don't have a microphone don't worry brooms, mop and hairbrush are always a great option.
You can add some dancing lessons to your karaoke night too. When was the last time you and your partner danced together? Turn on some tunes and get down in your living room. You can even try some online dancing lessons if you want to learn a new move.

Tasting Party

Pick up a few bottles you have wanted to try, portion them out into little glasses, and compare the flavors, do shots together. You can even do a tasting of foods, get some different cheeses, sausages, and cured meats. Listen, the sky's the limit with the tasting parties so feel free to pick any theme: Whiskey, ice cream, cookies, chocolate, whatever you want. To make it extra fun, create tasting stations with a bunch of different options, don't forget your sheet of paper to take your own tasting notes.

Film Fest

We all have a lot of shows on our to-watch list, especially these days! Cue up some of your childhood favorites, to share a piece of each other's history, or mix up your usual routine of parking on the couch in front of the TV, by bringing your movie watching outside. Set up a sheet, projector, and some chairs… Don't forget to bring snacks and drinks! Enjoy the movie.

Nice Dinner

Making dinner on a weeknight can be a rushed and stressful affair. But cooking together can be a lot of fun and a nice way to reconnect. Step away from the takeout menu and put down your phone, make your own delicious dinner at home. You can try something new and different or if you don't want to take risks that night, better go with something you tried before and you know everyone loves it.

Don't forget to pour yourself some mimosas, Bloody Marys, or any drink of your choice. Then, enjoy your stolen time beneath the covers: Read aloud to each other, relax, and snuggle, and don't forget the dessert.

Time to Snuggle

Surround Yourself with candles, it's amazing what a little change in the atmosphere can do to transform a normal experience into something special. If you feel like you and your significant other haven’t really talked in a long time, and have trouble discussing anything other than work or your kids, having a list of interesting question prompts can get you laughing, conversing, and learning new things about each other again. Turn off the phone and turn on the good vibe, light candles, play some jazzy tunes and take the time to talk, get into deep conversations with your soulmate about the future, or anything you want! But talk like it is your first date.

Do a puzzle together

Doing a puzzle together is a nice relaxing activity that helps you chill out and have a good conversation while you practice teamwork. You should pick a puzzle that you can finish the same evening, something like 200 or fewer pieces.

You can try board games too! A little friendly competition can get the sparks flying again in your relationship. Of course, if your pal is a little too competitive, and those sparks might turn into an incinerating rage, you’d probably be better off trying something else.

Read Aloud

This is an easy date night idea to recreate at home and is one of our favorites. If you don’t have a corner with two comfy chairs, move two chairs next to each other with a table in the middle.Back in the 19th century, people were all about reading out loud to each other; sitting around a parlor and reciting poetry and book passages was considered a good time! And not too long ago when we were in college, we used to love going to a bookstore and sitting there for hours reading books and magazines as a budget-friendly date night. So make a yummy hot drink and take turns while reading
